The Cross River Rail archaeology digs are recognized as the largest excavation in Brisbane’s recent history with finds contributing significantly to defining Brisbane’s historical narrative, and wider understanding of international trade and settlement.

2022 marks the 20th annual celebration of National Archaeology Week and to celebrate Cross River Rail is again partnering with Queensland Museum, to develop a full program of activities headquartered at the Cross River Rail Experience Centre.

Held in the third week of May, this nationwide program of events and activities includes public lectures, seminars, exhibitions, demonstration excavations, displays, and other events designed to engage with the general public.
